Meet your guide at our office in lovely Portorož – the Bay of Roses. After fitting your bikes, we’ll ride through the Valeta Tunnel, the longest on the famous Parenzana trail. Exiting the tunnel after a gentle descent, the route leads into the Strunjan Valley, renowned for its persimmon trees.Leaving Strunjan, we enter the second tunnel—the trail’s second longest—and emerge to panoramic views of Izola, a charming fishermen’s town. A long downhill brings us to the seaside promenade known locally as “Rex,” named after the ship that sank just off the coast. After about an hour of cycling, we reach Koper (Capo d’Istria), the largest city on the Slovenian coast, where your guide will reveal its highlights.We then head back toward Izola for a short stop and local insights, before a gentle climb to Belvedere—true to its name, a “beautiful view” point over Izola and the Strunjan salt pans. A slightly steeper descent takes us to the salt pans, where your guide will explain traditional salt harvesting, followed by a brief climb to the Piran city walls for more stunning vistas.We finish by exploring picturesque Piran and then return to our office for a well-earned Istrian snack.
